I've started learning how to build websites on my own, but because I'm still "green" and I have no one to really ask to answer my questions I came here hoping someone could answer a few.

Q1: How do sites delete old posts after a certain date, such as ebay, craigslist, and some forums? Whats the "science" behind it? is it a service the site host provides or is it html code?

Q2: are there any free website builders like Nvu or better? I would love to own Dream Weaver, but currently I can't afford the $400 price tag, and I'm very paranoid about downloading it illegally.

Q3: where are some good references?
