Help designing webpage in Kompozer… how to remove margins in table?

Working in Kompozer, I have made a table and the first row is dedicated to the logo & banner image. the second row down is just a plain color to separate it from the main content box, which is below that. I cannot seem to eliminate the extra space under the banner image and logo. I've tried resizing the image; all margins and paddings and borders are set to zero. please help! I'm a newbie at this.

Thanks in advance!

Make sure, in the code window, that you have <table border="0"

If you want some rows to have borders and some not, make separate tables.

Try changing the cell-spacing to 0

Although designing websites using tables for the who site is a little out-dated. You should try designing a website based on styling and formatting the output using Cascading Style Sheets. (CSS). it is much cleaner and reduces the amount of html code, and it is much more friendly with browser cross compatibility and search engines.
